Welcome to the The Wilton Archives & Virtual Museum

The Wilton Archives Story

The Wilton Archives, Ltd., a nonprofit corporation, was established in 2019 by Lynn and Brenda Ochiltree to help defray the cost to maintain the Candy Kitchen’s Museum and ever-growing archives. Our current museum is located in the Candy Kitchen with overflow archive storage and museum displays in the historic Star Drug Building, built 1876 and the Bacon Building, built 1868. It is estimated the Candy Kitchen’s Collections and Lynn Ochiltree’s personal archives, collected over the past 45 years, include in excess of 100,000 artifacts and documents. The focus of these collections is Muscatine County with special emphasis on the Moscow and Wilton, Iowa communities.

Looking forward, the Wilton Archives will also be utilized for fund raising activities to help with the construction of an archive and museum complex named The Heritage Center which will sit just north of the Candy Kitchen.
